    Visit builds new partnership with the Kenyan Council of Governors

    In March SKL International hosted a visit from the Kenyan Council of Governors to Sweden. The visit was an opportunity to build relationships at the start of a new cooperation project between the two organisations. The project will use the SymbioCity Approach to improve sustainable urban development in Kenya.

    Central-local government relations

    SKL International welcomed a delegation from Serbia on March 30 for a four-day study visit to Stockholm and Sigtuna. Delegates from the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and the Ministry of Public Affairs and Local Self-Government met counterparts from the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) and the Ministry of Finance.

    Reform Discussions with Ukrainian high-level representatives

    On March 9-10, SKL International received a high-level delegation from Ukraine to discuss the country’s reform agenda and share relevant experiences from Swedish reforms. The delegation consisted of a group of reform-oriented Ukrainian parliamentarians and Dmytro Shymkiv, the Director of the Executive Committee of Ukraine’s National Reform Council (NRC).

    SKL International participates in UNDP Myanmar Good Governance Forum

    During 24-25 February, SKL International participated in the UNDP Myanmar Good Governance Forum, taking place in Nay Pyi Taw. The invitation to the forum was a result of last year’s study- and work visit to Sweden where SKL International hosted a high-level government delegation from Myanmar to study multi-level governance and decentralization.
