On 14 – 19 September, the Gender Working Group of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM), the Serbian counterpart to the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), visited Sweden to gain practical experience of gender mainstreaming at local level.

This week marked the launch of the first meetings of the thematic local partnerships clusters between Swedish and Serbian Municipalities. During 10 – 11 September, representatives from the Swedish Municipalities of Malmö, Växjö and Gävle visited cluster partner municipalities in Belgrade, Nis and Zrenjanin, respectively.

During the sixth session of the World Urban Forum held in Neapel, SKL International successfully launched the SymbioCity Approach – a conceptual framework promoting sustainable urban development primarily in developing and transitional countries.
