Gender mainstreaming in local governance in inception

SKL international, in cooperation with South African Local Authorities Association (SALGA) and Masimanyane (a South African NGO) has launched an inception workshop on cooperation around GEMLOG South Africa - A Gender Mainstreaming Training Programme for South African Municipalities and Institutions. The overall objetive of the training programme is to improve the democratic consolidation in South Africa through gender policies and programmes at the local government level. The pilot programme targets politicians and officials of two provinces and six municipalities and will commence in February 2010.
