Safer Cities with Municipal Cooperation

SKL International recently finalized a UN-HABITAT commissioned pre-study. The pre-study outlined how support to capacity-building within the area of urban safety and security can be managed through cooperation between cities. The pilot round of the programme is suggested to focus on youth as a resource in creating urban safety and security. Further, the programme is suggested to include an element of peer-to-peer cooperation between municipal officers, police and representatives of the youth and NGOs, i.a. joint project design followed by implementation in the participating cities. More information will follow as the programme approaches implementation.
