Reform Discussions with Ukrainian high-level representatives

On March 9-10, SKL International received a high-level delegation from Ukraine to discuss the country’s reform agenda and share relevant experiences from Swedish reforms. The delegation consisted of a group of reform-oriented Ukrainian parliamentarians and Dmytro Shymkiv, the Director of the Executive Committee of Ukraine’s National Reform Council (NRC). The NRC was established by President Petro Perosjenko in 2014 to address the institutional challenges of Ukraine and coordinate the country’s reform efforts.

Times New Roman; font-size: medium;”>The second day, March 10, a separate and informal discussion was organized with Dmytro Shymkiv and four Swedish representatives with extensive experiences of Swedish reforms in the areas of: energy-efficiency, decentralisation and local self-governance:

  • Lars Eric Ericsson (former Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Local Government, Mayor of Uppsala; County Governor; President of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities)
  • Jörgen Anderssom (President EcoEnergy Scandinavia, former Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Energy- and Housing)
  • Sören Häggroth (former Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Internal Affairs)
  • Mats Svegfors (Publisher, former Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Housing, County Governor, Executive Director of Radio Sweden, Editor in Chief of Svenska Dagbladet)
