SKL International is Recruiting a SCA Trainer for the Capacity Building Programme in Myanmar

SKL International’s global SymbioCity Approach (SCA) programme is seeking to engage a Trainer for the Capacity Building Programme in Myanmar.

The SymbioCity Approach is a concept for sustainable urban development with emphasis on improving living conditions for the citizens in urban environments with special focus on the urban poor. The programme is implemented by SKL International AB, a subsidiary of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) based in Stockholm.

There is an urgent need for support to sustainable urban planning, development and management in Myanmar. The task of promoting more sustainable urban areas is shared between a number of stakeholders, where there is a need to strengthen capacity institutionally, organizationally as well as by strengthening individual capacities. The programme intends to target a critical mass of stakeholders at Union, State/Region and Township levels, building capacity through trainings, workshops and exposure visits.

The SCA Trainer will be engaged as a consultant for a total of maximum 120 days in the tentative period 2017-2020. Consulting contracts will be signed with SKL International AB.

The Request for Proposals provides further information about the assignment and how to submit a proposal for the position. Part 1 of the Request for Proposals describes the Capacity Building Programme in Myanmar and the role of the SCA trainer. Part 2 of the Request for Proposals describes what information needs to be submitted by Applicants and how the proposals will be assessed.

c) A written summary of not more than two (2) A4 pages in length highlighting the Applicant’s suitability for the role and relevance to the Selection Criteria listed in the Request for Proposal
