Description of Project

SARDP is a programme for rural development with the purpose of strengthening the local levels of the Amhara Region in Ethiopia.

SARDP supports and facilitates local government activities, in particular the decentralization of planning, decision making and resource allocations rights from the regional to the local levels (woreda and kebele). Specific issues which have been dealt with by the programme are:

• infrastructure
• agriculture
• health issues
• gender equality, etc.

Description of Services provided

SKL International has supported Orgut Consulting AB with expertise in the field of local democracy and local governance. SKL International has participated in annual performance assessments of the programmes technical advisory services.
