SKL International is implementing a project based on a partnership between the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR). The overall objective of the project is to contribute to strengthened democracy, equitable and sustainable development in relation to local governance and closer ties between Serbia and EU and the purpose is to strengthen the capacity of Local Governments to respond to EU accession requirements through enhanced effectiveness of SCTM to support members´ interests and development. The programme focuses on five areas of support:
Technical assistance will be provided to SCTM, in addition to specific capacity building and awareness raising interventions targeting Serbian Municipalities. SKL International will apply its methodology for thematic local partnership, building partnerships between Swedish Municipalities and clusters of Serbian Municipalities in a given region around shared service delivery objectives.
