Request for Proposals: Senior Team Leader based in Kyiv

SALAR International and Avfall Sverige is searching for a Senior Team Leader for the program ‘Strengthening of Municipal Waste Management in Ukraine 2024-2027‘. The position is long term and requires being based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The Team Leader will assume a pivotal senior management role as the representative for the SALAR International and Avfall Sverige program management team in Ukraine. The position entails leading and supporting program teams and specialists, engaging in strategic dialogues with Ukrainian partners and international stakeholders, and fostering program development through the exploration and initiation of new projects as appropriate. The Team Leader will be tasked with managing and reporting program progress and outcomes on the ground, ensuring alignment with the priorities and strategies set by the Swedish government.

Additionally, the Team Leader will be instrumental in the foundational stages of the program, including the recruitment and organization of local teams, as well as establishing the program’s operations in Ukraine. They will maintain close collaboration with and report directly to the program management team based in Sweden.

Location and duration

The position is long-term, approximately three (3) years. Full time from program start (tentatively starting between July and August 2024). The Team Leader will be contracted on an consultant based contract.

The Senior Team Leader is expected to be located in Kyiv, Ukraine. The role includes frequent travel within Ukraine and potentially (when feasible) to other countries as well.
