What we do

As part of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and regions (SALAR), SALAR International works globally to promote and strengthen local and regional self-governance and resilience. In order to achieve this we see three pivotal domains of change: decentralised democratic systems, effective and equitable service delivery, and local sustainable development. In addition we guide EU candidate countries and countries already in the union through EU local government policies and legal frameworks.
